How do I get the walltime of my running job increased?
Walltime increases are generally not allowed. Increasing the walltime of a running job could cause several other users to wait much longer. If you desire to run a job longer than the maximum walltime on a particular system, please email help@msi.umn.edu well in advance of submitting the job in question. As extraordinarily long jobs require executive review and approval, we recommend you contact us several days in advance of submitting the job. Also please consider that even if you submit such a request, it may not be granted.
MSI may be able to assist you in adding checkpointing to your job. Checkpointing will allow you to save intermediate job states, so that subsequent submissions of a job do not need to start from the beginning. Please contact help@msi.umn.edu for more information.
