MSI's RI Bioinformatics group sponsors the Informatics Interest Group that meets every other Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. It is meant to be inclusive of all bioinformatics and computational biology enthusiasts at the University, as well as neighboring Minnesota institutions.
The focus of this group is to act as a place for the discussion of ideas and questions related to our field, to spotlight local seminars and events relevant to this community, and to publicize new software and resources of interest.
MSI Informatics Interest Group
Meeting Format
Roundtable Discussion (first 15 Minutes or less, depending on questions):
- The discussion portion of the meeting is open to any and all questions or comments about informatics or working within MSI's environment. This is a chance for informatics experts and beginners alike to have their questions discussed or to chime in based on their specific expertise.
Presentations + Questions (last 45 Minutes):
- We ask that the primary focus of presentations be the informatics task or challenge. Presentations may be on current research, published works, tool comparisons, how-tos with a favorite tool, or really any other topic of interest related to informatics.
