MSI PI James Anderson (professor, Agronomy and Plant Genetics) was featured on Relish, the James Beard Award-winning food program on Twin Cities Public Television, this summer. Host Yia Vang, a well-known chef and restaurateur in the Twin Cities, interviewed Professor Anderson about wheat breeding and crop development. Professor Anderson uses MSI resources to map genes and do genomic prediction in several grain crops. The Anderson group has also begun to use MSI resources to analyze large sets of images of intermediate wheatgrass, with a plan to expand this project to other crops.
