Studying Antarctic Ice

MSI PI Peter Neff (assistant professor, Soil, Water, and Climate) is featured in a story in the Spring 2025 edition of Minnesota Alumni magazine. Professor Neff traveled to Antarctica in 2024 to collect ice cores, which he will study to determine climate conditions in the past. This data can be used to help predict how global warming will affect the environment. The story can be found on the U of M Alumni Association website: To The Core

Professor Neff uses MSI resources for studies of how climate change will impact Minnesota and the interaction of the state’s climate and its lakes.
