Sustainable GeoCommunities

posted January 31, 2025

The Research and Innovation Office (RIO) has announced that four projects will be funded under the new Sustainable GeoCommunities Initiative. The Initiative, launched in 2024, is an international program that seeks to help local communities worldwide meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The seed grants are the part of the first phase of this program. The projects include collaborators at universities, tribal nations, and other US and worldwide organizations.

A detailed description of the projects can be found on the RIO website: 2024 Awards: Sustainable GeoCommunities Seed Grants.

A search has been initiated for a part-time director to guide and refine the direction of this new program. Contact Len Kne ([email protected]), U-Spatial Director, if you're interested in the position.
