MSI PI Awarded Grant to Study Adolescents and Social Media
MSI PI Xiaoran Sun (assistant professor, Family Social Science) is the Principal Investigator on a project that has received a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to study how adolescents use social media. Five other faculty members, including MSI PI Ju Sun (assistant professor, Computer Science and Engineering), are co-PIs on the project. This is a four-year grant totaling $2,750,433. Professor Xiaoran Sun uses MSI resources for machine learning-based research into social determinants of educational attainment. Professor Ju Sun uses MSI resources for research at the intersection of machine/deep learning, computer vision, numerical optimization, and medical imaging.
