U Chief Semiconductor Officer Named

MSI PI Steven Koester Named U of M Chief Semiconductor Officer

MSI PI Steven Koester (professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering; Director, Minnesota Nano Center) has been named the University of Minnesota’s Chief Semiconductor Officer. In this position, Professor Koester will coordinate U of M research and education initiatives and investments related to microelectronics and will coordinate the U’s work with larger efforts in this area within the state of Minnesota. This will include work that falls under the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act. A new website dedicated to University semiconductor and microelectronics research and education has also gone live.

Professor Koester uses MSI resources for projects related to 2D materials, beam steering antennas, and perovskite thermal transport.
